As part of the IB (International Baccalaureate) Art Course I had present 14 works of art, all part of one particular subject. My subject was Videogames, and what better way to present Videogames as Art than to create a working Arcade machine...
This machine's framework was made with PVC Pipes that sustained an old Dell Computer. The buttons were made out of an old keyboard that I rewired. And finally, I programmed the Videogames in Blitz Basic.
I decided to include 5 typical arcade games, that use music and sprites from other famous SNES games. The idea was to make a collage of all my childhood games into this Arcade. This way I could present to the viewer a small sample of different games.
Actually, the games are arranged according to the time I programmed them. They are: Pong (2006), Space Invaderz (2007), Caracas Driving (2007), Project BEV (2008), and Beatles' Yellow Submarine (2009).
